David’s recordings come direct from his bedroom in Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs, via some intensive mixing in Northcote and then mastering in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.

David began songwriting after hearing Pink Floyd.

“My earliest recordings were done using three different tape players – two playing at once and the third recording them,” he says.

Working with a simple four-track set-up, an out-of-date computer, inadequate sound card and headphones, David managed to put together the concept album I Sat On The Corner of A Page of The Novel of My Mind.

“I recorded this project at home on my PC, some of the parts were taken off tapes I’d recorded on the four track years ago but most of it was done in ’03,” he says. “For these tracks I used a Casio keyboard, a Roland synth, a Strat copy, an SM58 mic and a Pentium II.”
