A preview of the forthcoming Longest Day compilation LIGHT YEARS 2005-2012

[Brad] A hard one to listen to on the album (Night Falls), because our live rendering added drums and a vocal track, which really upped the intensity, rendering the album version a little under-done (in comparison). Hence the decision to re-record and re-mix it for this release. Christy’s guitar drone and a couple of other elements remain from the original.

[Jay] The title was a snippet of a phrase from George Orwell’s 1984 which I was re-reading at the time. Once again, I agree with Brad – this track evolved a great deal over a few short years. I was really surprised when Brad first suggested we should play this live because I couldn’t quite see how it would translate, but in later shows, it was my personal highlight of our live set.
